New work from Legwork for Sims

Sims - Steve Fisher Rider Collaboration from LEGWORK on Vimeo.

Sims Snowboards came to us to help tell the story of the 2010/2011 Steve Fisher pro-model, the story behind the graphic, and the process with Sims art director Gabe Re. We shot and directed the interviews and behind the scenes footage, cooked up some stop-motion animations and stiched it all together for this informational short. Pretty gnarly shred-stick if you ask us!

Kronenburg: Slow The Pace

This is a pretty cool idea - for it's latest campaign from BBH London, Kronenburg Beer is tapping different artists to re-work their iconic songs to fit into a slower paced format. The first of which is (a personal favorite) Motorhead doing Ace of Spades. The song is available for download here. Rock on.

A great way to kick off Halloween weekend

Annual TAXI Halloween Bash for you late night creatures

The kids trick-or-treat street will run from 5-7 and will be based in the TAXI2 common area with Fuel CafĂ© snacks, games, photo booth and more. Kids are encouraged to roam the halls of TAXI 2 where participating shops will have a pumpkin by the door to let the kids know it’s cool to stop there. In the meantime, TAXI1 will be transformed into a Nascar/Monster Truck/Dukes of Hazzard/Moonshine lovin’ den of trashiness!

The adult party will go from 11-???. Look for a dirt bike racing game on the big screen in Mersive and a genuine trailer park special in the Westphal studio. Our bartenders will have most of their teeth, and will be slangin’ moonshine and Granpappy’s cough syrup all night long. So bust out yer best Nascar racin’ outfit and get your motor runnin’!

Stay tuned to the TAXI Blog and Facebook pages for more info.

Also, be sure to take advantage of our great partnership with Metro Cab before and after the party.

The Brief

The Brief is a student design competition simulating a late night at an ad agency.  A design brief will be developed by Jay Roth, a Sr. Copywriter and ADCD Chairman, for our beneficiary client DAVA, a local arts-education non-profit focused on serving underprivileged youth.  Intercollegiate teams of four students (a Senior, Juniors and a Sophomore or Freshman) will be directed by senior creatives from the local design and advertising community through three hours of pencil and paper concepting and digital execution culminating in a client presentation.

The Brief is open to Design and Advertising students at all levels. Each team will have minimum one laptop (not required to participate) but the focus will be on traditional concepting – thumbnail-sketches and mind-maps followed by digital roughs. In addition to receiving valuable real world experience, and networking opportunities with local Professionals and with each other, student winners will receive scholarship money.

Banksy intro for The Simpsons

Bwah-ha-ha! Dark and gloomy and deliciously funny.

Adobe Museum of Digital Media

Created by Goodby, Silverstein and Unit9, the virtual museum was created to showcase all forms of digital media.
We think it's a pretty cool way to get energized and inspired.

Cheeto Fantastico

If this doesn't keep you throughly entertained for 2 minutes and 28 seconds, we don't know what will.  Cheeto Art to keep you Coco fans at ease until November 8.

826

I'm a huge fan of what 826 does nationally for kids, but an even bigger fan of their storefronts where all proceeds go to support local chapters. I just stumbled upon this site for a store based in Ann Arbor, MI and had to share. Robot Supply and Repair, indeed!

Want to help the Briefies out?

It's not too late to sponsor the extraordinary event, The Brief. On October 21st, students will be facing a design brief for our beneficiary client DAVA, a local arts-education non-profit focused on serving underprivileged youth.

ADCD is dedicated to helping our students and community. Partnering with us supports up and coming talent through real world experience, scholarships, and social networking.

Kafka on Ice

If you've been to Buntport Theater lately you know that they are trying to raise money in order to bring Kafka on Ice back to the stage.  Perhaps you've already donated to this cause.  If so, they thank you!  If you haven't donated or would like to ask friends and family to pitch in, here is the sob story:

In 2004 the production Kafka on Ice was created.  It was a success (the Westword wrote "It's safe to say that no one--anywhere--is doing theater like this.") and they always wanted to remount it.  However, several years later, a trailer containing all of their props, costumes, and synthetic ice was stolen.  Very sad.  Now in our Tenth Season in Denver, they are raising the money to bring Kafka back!  So far, they have managed to raise $9,428 of the $14,000.  For the month of October, you can donate on ChipIn through this link:

http://buntport.chipin.com/buntport-theaters-kafka-on-ice

Anything will help, even $10.  After all, this is their tenth season...and it's the tenth month of 2010!  Help them get closer to their total goal!

Thank you so much for supporting original work in Denver!

New Gap logo

Lot's of buzz around the re-styling of the Gap logo (most of it not so good). Through all the hub-bub, Gap is staying pretty quiet about the whole thing. Your thoughts?
