2011 Student Brief

The Brief is a student design competition simulating a late night at an ad agency. A design brief was developed by Mike Sukle, Creative Director and Principal at Sukle, for our beneficiary client, The Center for Visual Arts a non-profit exhibition space and interactive art laboratory for Metro State students and the larger community.

Intercollegiate teams were directed by Senior Creatives from the local Design and Advertising community from pencil and paper concepting through digital execution culminating in a client presentation.

Congrats to Green Arrow Project on their win last night and great work everyone!

Annual Show Round-up

This year ADCD received more than 300 entries for judging. We flew in judges from across the US – including a Creative Director from Wexely School for Girls in Seattle, an Art Director from DDB Chicago, a Creative Director from Colle + McVoy in Minneapolis and a photographer from Los Angeles.

More than 180 people attended the event at the Denver Art Museum. Forty different agencies, companies and independent creatives were recognized for their work.

Thanks goes to the Denver Art Museum, Multimedia Audio Visual, the emcee of the event Eric Matelski and the more than twenty volunteers that helped make the night happen.

The Old Spice Guys go to Casa Bonita!

Wieden+Kennedy creatives Craig Allen & Eric Kallman bring ideas, insights, and a tasty reel of work for Skittles, Careerbuilder.com, and yes, the infamous "I'm on a horse" spot for Old Spice that has swept every major award show, has millions of followers on YouTube, and a slew of parodies. They just have one request. Being big South Park fans, they want to go to Casa Bonita. Wanna go with them?

Come hear them at RMCAD Thursday, February 17th at 6PM. We'll then hold drawings for Casa Bonita vouches so you may go to dinner on ADCD with Eric and Craig. Just think. You'll get to talk to the winners of the 2010 Cannes Grand Prix for Television AND enter the diabolical Black Bart's Cave—all in one night! Wow!

You Can Win Tickets To The Casa Bonita After Party

Attention ladies, men, food trucks, aliens currently inhabiting squirrel carcasses, migrating Californians and that very welcoming blue horse with the pretty eyes at DIA:

ADCD has an announcement of such magnitude that I would use ALL CAPS to announce it but it would be really annoying and make all the lowercase letters feel really bad about themselves.

So here goes:

ADCD, here to fore, at this point, would like to announce that we will be giving seven, yes seven, ADCD Super Fans exclusive access to the life-changing diabolical caves, crystalline waterfalls, and yes, the immense pleasure of sitting next to Eric and Craig, the masterminds behind the infamous Old Spice Commercials, at (drum roll please) CASA BONITA on Feb 17th.

During this magical evening, these ADCD Superfans will be dancing a sweet Mexican tango while sipping margaritas the size of a small sombrero and licking the honey off their fingers from the delicious sopapillas.

So how do said ADCD Super Fans BECOME ADCD Super Fans? Just get on your computer, your mom's computer or your boss's computer and post the most exciting, life altering, Old Spice Commercial parody to our facebook fan page.

OR if you're one of the creative ones with nothing to do on a Friday night, create your own delicious parody to share with all the people who actually had plans.

The video with the most "likes" will ensure your access to this wondrous and special evening courtesy of ADCD.

Special consideration will be given to the created videos, unless they suck.

Good luck and you're welcome.

BMA Gold Key Awards

From time to time we like to help support other local creative orgs, such as our friends over at the BMA.

This year's theme is based around Displaying the Best - talent and work. Entry to the judging is online and easy.
You've got one more week to show your Best!
