Microsoft Surface, meet your most natural follower

SurfaceScapes Gameplay Session from Surfacescapes on Vimeo.

Couple observations.
The interface is really coming along (let's see if Apple can beat it today)
Of course the best application to date is the Dungeons and Dragons (perfect, they now have a market that just has to have it)
And is only seems obvious now.

Awww, so cute

Dr Pepper

Despite the idea of flashmobs (especially the unimaginative ones) being a relatively played out idea, who are they trying to target? Wall Street? Wall Street fan boys?

Smile Detection

Nice little visual twist, just enough to get you to smile. Oh, you'll have to pardon the pun, it was unintentional. RMG Connect, New Delhi, India

Yale Sings!? WTF?

A bit campy and low budget. There you have the pros. I'll even throw in the "At least it's Original." I would have to say, the first half of it is pretty much vanilla, this makes Yale feel like every other college, if they would all sing. Not sure this works unless their target is for High School Musical fans that feel left out of the singing high school experience and really want it in their college life. It takes 10 minutes just to get to academics. It just makes it all seem trivial. Especially so by the time you get to the electric guitar in the art museum.

And yet, just can't look away,

Creating Buzz for Digital Kitchen

Yes, that's a transparent title. We here at ADCD are very excited to invite you to an evening with Digital Kitchen's Rama Allen and Bryce Wymer from DK's NYC office (details below).

But the title also refers to the two word creative brief that HBO handed the agency: regarding the second season of True Blood, HBO's request was simply to "create buzz." Teaming up with world-class brands, Digital Kitchen produced the banners above among others, as well as a few viral videos you can see here.

Digital Kitchen has produced trailers and titles for Six Feet Under, True Blood, Dexter, Nip and Tuck, and Shark Week, to name a few.

Come hear them speak about their creative process, serendipity, making mistakes, embracing failure and the democratic creative process in a studio with a vast array of skill sets creating top of the industry work.

Fresh Air

A little tongue-in-cheek and probably not all that effective (aside from the pictures they have of people trying it out) but the idea is fresh. Wirz BBDO Network, Zurich, Switzerland

Just love this idea and the work from Mercado Negro (meaning Black Market in spanish) out in LA. Hit the link for more pics.

Best of One Show on Thursday

Saw some really great commercials at the One Show on Thursday but this was one that slipped by our radar in the last year. A Comcast's faster, faster concept that never hit our region. Great extension of an idea with fantastic animation.

You Eat Crap

Fictional work that really makes you wonder what are you eating? Then again, you know, don't you.

A Little Motivation Tuesday Morning

If you have been in this biz for long enough, you know it to be true. If you are new to the biz, hold it true. It takes more than classes or a knowledge of design to be a designer, much more. Never rest on what you know now.

This would be show stopping to see.

Computer hand work

Love the mix of computer and non-traditional technique that comes back together in this stop motion animation. Really pushes how you think about animation. Check out the workspace to get a feel for the hand-crafted-ness Benjamin Ducroz had to put into it.

Dirty Balls

So many dirty puns, so little, uncomfortable, time. Well within the brand though, and a very "dirty" pleasure.

HE MIGHT REGRET THIS

Can't imagine why anyone would want to reflect the Never Hide Campaign from Ray-Ban, but here he is. In all his glory. Let's not say he didn't have the guts to go for it, but can't wait to see that when he is 80.

CL!CK

Arguably, one of the worlds most beloved brand launches a new site to share ideas, and along with it, this wonderful stop motion film. Nearly impossible not to like.

History in 100 Objects

This looks interesting, at least to the part of me that really loves the story in those peices behind glass in museums. Besides, this was beautifully shot.

A Little Sound

These may not be the best ever but they are simple, clever and a really great thing to remember.

What Type are You

Just a little heavy handed and forced. However it is a really nice format in which to be self completive while discovering some wonderful type faces. Leave it to Pentagram to bring this duality to life in a most unexpected way. The password for the site is character.

Vintage

Clever way to approach a somewhat taboo subject, can anyone tell me why these always seem to combine flesh color and script-y type? It almost didn't hve to say what it was for, the type and color speaks more for itself.

Best Album Covers of the Decade

In the age of single-track-iTunes-purchases, we have seemingly forgotten about the beauty, strangeness, and interest that album covers have long portrayed. Fortunately, these 25 artists have not.

A little old at this point but really hard to ignore. Possibly even harder not to take away to spend some time in your childhood box.
